   Summary - There are several theological points. This work seems to have the tone of the gospel of John. The book is not addressed to anyone. The audience is called, "little children" and "beloved". God the father, Jesus the son, and the Holy Ghost are called by name, no one else. Some verses: That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.  Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.  Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born...

 Summary - This is a short letter to the elect lady. The first six verses are positive and encouraging. Verses 7-11 warn of deceivers. The last two verses close out the letter. Jesus Christ and God are mentioned a few times. There are some concrete examples given of what to beware of and how to talk. Some verses: Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.  For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.  If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:  For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.  Summary - A short letter of encouragement. There is some warning of evil doers. After this letter they were to expect a personal visit shortly.    Summary - scary prophecies that cover past present and future events. Much of it is impossible to connect to real events currently. Some in heaven, some on earth. At some point someone may understand all of it. Has several iconic verses surrounded by scary stuff.
